• Desiccant Absorption Bags

Applications: Electronic Components, Semiconductors, Machine Parts, Military Instruments & Armaments, Automotive Parts, Circuit Boards, Granules (Flour, Sugar), Optical Devices & More

    What are they?

Desiccant bags absorb moisture, odors and chemicals to preserve and protect any number of products, including semiconductors, electronics, cartons of food or even large machinery.

    Why use them?

Whether in storage or transit, products in nearly every industry require protection from moisture. Rust, mildew, mold and an overall decrease in product efficacy are all common effects of moisture, costing millions in returned or unusable product each year. Desiccant bags help prevent damage by absorbing moisture in the air.

    Available configurations

Desiccant bags are packaged in DuPont Tyvek®, GDT-II or high-strength polyester rayon materials, all of which are strong, durable and meet FDA specifications.

Bags are available in sizes ranging from 1/6 unit to 80 units (5 1/2 grams to 2,640 grams). Desi Pak®, a bentonite clay desiccant, is one of Süd-Chemie's most economical and effective options. Other fills include Sorb-It® (silica gel), Tri-Sorb® (molecular sieve), 2-in-1 Pak (silica gel or bentonite clay with activated carbon) and Getter Pak (activated carbon).

    Desiccant bags line includes:

    Netted desiccant bags
Covered with a red, food-grade netting, the netted desiccant bags can be dropped directly into powdered products and easily identified and discarded once the product is ready to be used.

    String-sewn desiccant bags
String sewn bags are ideal for protecting large items from rust, corrosion or other moisture damage. They can be hung on large equipment for transport or storage, or within storage or transport containers.

Desiccant bags comply with a wide range of industry standards, including military, aerospace, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals and more. For complete details, call or request quote.

  • Container Dri® II Absorption Bags

Container Dri® II: Eliminate container rain and moisture condensation during shipping and storage.

    Applications:
Shipment/Storage of Automotive, Bulk Packaged Grains/Milled Products, Food, Powders, Glass, Wood, Pet Food, Canned Goods, Perishable Goods & More

    What is it?

Container Dri® II is a specially designed desiccant aimed at protecting cargo during shipping by absorbing moisture vapor from the air. In doing so, Container Dri II reduces dew point temperature (the temperature at which condensation begins to form, causing "container rain"), keeping cargo dry and safe. All Container Dri II product configurations contain a patented formulation of calcium chloride and a gelling agent to absorb and trap moisture.

    Why use it?

As goods move through intermodal systems, they are susceptible to water damage from the condensation of moisture due to high humidity levels and day-to-night temperature fluctuations. Container Dri II adds a new level of protection in containers by ensuring moisture reduction.

Container Dri II absorbs up to three times its weight in moisture, and through an advanced formula, traps it as a thick gel. In addition, by using Container Dri II in refrigerated or non-refrigerated containers, cargo will remain fresh for an extended period of time in dryer atmospheric conditions. Container Dri II has the ability to protect shipments from start to finish, through all temperature ranges and relative humidity variances.

    Available Configurations

Container Dri II is available in both strip and as single bags. Container Dri II Strip is the only solution on the market with an adhesive backing that ensures easy installation onto the walls of shipping containers or inside storage warehouses. Individual bags can be placed between stacks of cargo. An advanced hanging configuration, Container Dri II Plus, is also available.

  • Container Dri® II Plus Absorption Bags

Eliminate mold, mildew, corrosion, rust, peeling labels and other harmful effects of moisture during shipping and storage.

    Applications:
Shipment/Storage of Automotive, Bulk Packaged Grains/Milled Products, Food, Powders, Glass, Wood, Pet Food, Canned Goods, Perishable Goods & More
    What is it?
Container Dri® II Plus (CDII+) is part of Süd-Chemie’s Container Dri II line of cargo desiccants. It is a specially designed desiccant aimed at protecting cargo by absorbing moisture vapor from the air. CDII+ is a versatile configuration composed of a blanket of 12 125-gram compartments of Container Dri II. CDII+ is made with an outer protective envelope and powerful strapping system allowing it to be quickly and securely hung and suspended in sea containers, rail cars or river barges. All Container Dri II product configurations contain a patented formulation of calcium chloride and a gelling agent to absorb and trap moisture.

    Why use it?
As goods move through intermodal transport systems, they are susceptible to water damage from condensation of moisture due to high humidity and day-to-night temperature changes. CDII+ adds a greater level of protection in containers by ensuring significant moisture reduction. By absorbing approximately 2400 grams of moisture per bag, CDII+ reduces dew point temperature (the temperature at which condensation begins to form, causing "container rain"), keeping cargo dry and safe. The product is ready-to-use, making installation quick and easy in a variety of shipping containers.

    Available configurations

CDII+ is available in a large configuration containing the equivalent of 12 125-gram bags complete with strapping system and locking hook for hanging.

Because of its large configuration only 5 to 6 bags are recommended to protect a rail car or 40-foot container. The amount varies depending on transport route, environmental conditions and susceptibility of the cargo.
